The Collapse of the Arba’at Dam


On Saturday, August 24, 2024, a sudden collapse of "Arba’at" dam occurred due to flooding, causing a group of wells to collapse in the dam area. In total, about 40 villages in "Arba’at" area were affected, while the flood caused the loss of about (300) head of livestock, in addition to losses in orchards and farms that were flooded. 


In the same context, the Ministry of Health in the Red Sea State announced four confirmed deaths. Unofficial reports indicated that dozens of those counted as missing had died. Sources from the native administrations in the region confirmed the ambulance of (235) people injured by the floods. Meanwhile, the "Takwili" health center received (30) cases of fracture or injury, and the center suffers from a lack of services.
